The Agence de Presse Sénégalaise recently covered a workshop organized by the Senegalese Midwives Association in collaboration with the IntraHealth-led Senegal Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (SURHI). More information is available in the French-language article.

Over the past year, the Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health/Family Planning and Malaria Project has trained 181 nurses in rural health posts across Senegal to offer long-term contraceptive methods, such as intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants. This groundbreaking approach will make contraceptives more widely available, and offer Senegalese women more contraceptive options.

Earlier this month, Human Resources for Health published an article, “Sharing Best Practices through Online Communities of Practice: A Case Study,” which argues that online forums are useful venues for medical, nursing, and midwifery students, especially in developing countries, to learn and share key skills and reproductive health knowledge that can prevent maternal death and disability. The article was coauthored by Barbara Stilwell, IntraHealth International’s director of technical leadership .

Rwanda's New Times recently covered a training on combating gender-based violence that IntraHealth conducted with local authorities. The article is available here.

Two journals recently published studies conducted by the IntraHealth-led Capacity Project, which examine key factors in remedying Uganda’s severe shortage of health workers. Both articles were coauthored by Pamela A. McQuide, who is currently IntraHealth’s deputy director of the Capacity Kenya project.
