IntraHealth International Listed as Top USAID Partner
This week, IntraHealth International was listed as one of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) top 20 nonprofit partners, as reported by Devex, a social enterprise that provides business intelligence and recruitment services to the development community, leading donor agencies, companies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and development professionals. Devex ranked these organizations based on funding obligated from October 2010 through March 2011.
“We are honored to find ourselves on this list, alongside many other great non-profit partner organizations,” commented Pape Gaye, IntraHealth president and CEO. “We have a longstanding relationship with USAID. We very much value this relationship and are committed to continuing to pursuing it in support of health workers and underserved communities all over the world.”
All of the organizations listed qualify as non-profit organizations with 501 (c)(3) or tax-exempt status and are crucial implementing partners for USAID, which funds field work through grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts. Many of these organizations, which include research institutes, faith-based charities, and private non-governmental organizations, rival their for-profit counterparts in terms of staff size, range of expertise, and awarded funding.
