We at IntraHealth International are devastated by the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Raluca Iosif. Raluca was killed in Durham, North Carolina, on October 6, 2015.

A new analysis illustrates exactly how the World Health Organization’s Workforce Indicators of Staffing Needs (WISN) tool can provide the data that health systems managers and policymakers need to promote universal access to health care within their own countries.

In 2015, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has been saving an average of 10 million NIS (about US$2.6 million) per month by improving the health system’s processes for referring clients for specialized care to Israeli hospitals, thanks to technical support from the US Agency for International Development-funded Palestinian Health Capacity Project (PHCP), led by IntraHealth International.

During the past six years, the IntraHealth International-led global CapacityPlus project has helped 28 countries build the health workforces they need to improve health and well-being within their populations.
