1st ECOWAS Good Practices Forum in Health

IntraHealth International staff are presenting at the 1st ECOWAS Good Practices Forum in Health. The forum will tackle the theme of ending preventable mother and child deaths in West Africa.

The forum, organized by the West African Health Organization in collaboration with members states and partners, will bring together experts, senior officials from ministries of health, NGOs, and other private and public sector stakeholders for discussion and knowledge sharing on the following topics:  

  • Leadership, management, and governance 
  • Health service delivery approaches 
  • Socio-cultural approaches and advocacy 
  • Scalability and sustainability of effective practices.

IntraHealth Participation

Fatimata Sy, director of the Ouagadougou Partnership Coordination Unit for IntraHealth will present "Approche Régionale d’Alignement des Parties Prenantes de la PF: le Partenarait de Ouagadougou." [A Regional Approach to Aligning Partners for FP: The Ouagadougou Partnership.]

Awa Cheikh Seye Ndiaye, IntraHealth's communications lead for the Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (ISSU), will present "Campagne de Communication sur la Planification Familiale de 2013-2014 au Sénégal." [Senegal’s 2013-2014 National Family Planning Campaign.]

Youssou Diop, IntraHealth's regional coordinator of the Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (ISSU) will present "Identification Systématique des Besoins de la Cliente en Planification Familiale par le Projet ISSU, pour la Réduction des Besoins non Satisfait en PF." [Systematic Screening of Clients' Family Planning Needs, The ISSU Project Approach to Reduce Unmet Need]

Fanding Badji, service delivery lead for IntraHealth's Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (ISSU), will present “Contribution au Relèvement du Taux de Prévalence Contraceptive par le Recrutement de Nouvelles Clientes à Travers le Paquet d’Offre de Service PF pour Améliorer la Santé des Populations Urbaines Pauvres Défavorisées du Sénégal." [Contributing to Senegal’s Increased Contraceptive Prevalence Rate by Recruiting New Users in Underserved Urban Areas through Delivery of a Package of FP Services.]

Demba Traoré, project manager for the Capacity Building for Fistula Treatment and Prevention in Mali project will present two posters: "Compagnonnage: Stratégie de Formation Décentralisée, Expériences Pilote à L’hôpital de Gao, Mali" and "Intégration de la Planification Familiale dans les Services de Prise en Charge de la Fistule Obstétricale au Mali: Importance du Counseling de la Cliente Souffrant de la Fistule." ["Companion Training: Decentralized Training Approach, Lessons from a Pilot Experience at the Gao Hospital, Mali" and "Integration of Family Planning in Obstetrical Fistula Services in Mali: The Importance of Counseling."]
