Building Health Workforce Resilience: Preparing for Tomorrow’s Climate and Health Crises

Tuesday, September 24, 2024, 12:00 - 2:30pm EDT
The Cornell Club, New York

Pandemics, climate change, chronic disease and conflict have pushed health systems to the breaking point, and the health workforce is constantly under pressure to respond to multiple health crises simultaneously. All cadres of health workers–nurses, community health workers, physicians, pharmacists and others–are needed to effectively address the changing needs of patients from the health facility to the last mile.

Hosted by the Frontline Health Workers Coalition, IntraHealth International, and several coalition members, this high-level event will feature keynote remarks, an exciting panel discussion, and networking opportunities. Speakers and participants will examine the expanded demands on health workers as they manage intersecting health challenges within the primary care context and highlight examples of collaborative partnerships and sustainable investments in locally-led solutions that strengthen the ability of health workers to not only meet the day-to-day health needs of communities, but also pivot to better respond to crises.
