Women comprise the majority of the health workforce globally yet hold only 25% of health system leadership roles. Addressing gender-related barriers to leadership is critical to achieving universal health coverage and women’s economic empowerment. The World Health Organization has designated 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife and is leading a new report on the State of the World’s Nursing. It’s essential that the direct voices and perspectives of nurses on issues of leadership inform the global agenda. Reports will be available at the event.
Breakfast, coffee, and tea will be served. Formal program begins at 6:40 AM.
