SAXAPAHAW — When IntraHealth International, a health organization based in Chapel Hill whose influence reaches healthcare workers in more than 100 countries, was looking for a place to hold an annual conference, they wanted something a bit different.

Something different from the usual, windowless conferences that are often held in hotel ballrooms, said Kate Tulenko, the group's vice president of health systems innovation.

Something that would draw people from all over the world to talk about innovations in health care, and how people from different walks of life can come together to improve the health and wellbeing of people around the world.
