IntraHealth International welcomes two new members to its board of directors: Carlos Correcha-Price and Beverly Rubin, JD. Correcha-Price, a senior vice president at Edelman Public Relations in Washington, DC, brings a deep expertise in international public affairs and multicultural communications. Rubin, who serves as senior vice president, general counsel for Merkle, brings over two decades of experience in legal counsel, including corporate transactions, governance, litigation, compliance, and human resources.

Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, Correcha-Price leads Edelman’s public affairs efforts in Latin America. In 2010, he was selected as one of eight executives worldwide to participate in the Edelman Fellows Program. During his 18-month fellowship assignment in Brazil, he served as interim group head for the public affairs practice; chief of staff to Edelman Brazil's president and CEO; and as project manager for several local and regional initiatives for Samsung Electronics, BASF, and others.

For Correcha-Price, IntraHealth’s mission to support health workers around the world is a powerful draw.

“My aunt, when she was a small child in Colombia, stepped on a rusty nail,” Correcha-Price says. “She lived in a rural area, and the health workers there didn’t know how to treat her. The foot got infected. My aunt lost her leg. She and her family had to move to another part of the country where the health workers had more resources and training. Those health workers were able to save her life. But it was a very traumatic experience for the entire family. IntraHealth, at its core, has a very powerful mission. I know that when I contribute to spreading the good work the organization does and why it matters, it will make a real difference in the world.”

Rubin is a seasoned attorney with more than 23 years of professional services experience across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including corporate transactions, governance, litigation, compliance, and human resources. Her extensive background includes nonprofits, employment law, health care, and technology. Rubin leads Merkle’s legal department, helping the company’s leaders to balance the needs of a growing organization with sound legal and business judgment. Before joining Merkle, Rubin spent over 15 years at Quintiles in a variety of senior positions, including global human resource operations, deputy general counsel, and general counsel.

“IntraHealth is highly developed for an organization of its age, and has a wealth of business acumen to draw from,” Rubin says. “Now the organization is seeing some exciting opportunities for smart financial growth, and I look forward to contributing as IntraHealth pursues those opportunities.”

Over the course of her career as an attorney, Rubin says, she has always gravitated toward health care and human resources. Many of her family members are health workers.

“When my brother was working in Seattle as a cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgeon, he was seeing a lot of patients from Alaska, where there aren’t enough surgeons,” she says. “In fact, he chose to accept a position in Alaska for that reason. He’s so busy that he doesn’t have an off-call day. Many of us may not realize there’s a health worker shortage even in the United States, but there is, and it has a major impact on access to health care throughout the world.”
