Beginning July 2, 2024, Kate Stratten will become CEO of IntraHealth International as IntraHealth’s outgoing CEO, Maqsoda Maqsodi, departs to take on a new opportunity.
“I am so proud to have led this organization over the past 16 months,” Maqsodi says. “In that time, we have achieved tremendous milestones together, including developing and operationalizing our IntraHealth 2030 roadmap toward locally led development and entering into an exciting new combination with Global Communities that will enable us to multiply our collective impact and better meet the changing needs of the countries we serve.”
Previously Stratten served as vice president for programs at IntraHealth, overseeing the organization’s global portfolio of projects. She has 20 years of experience leading and implementing multimillion-dollar international public health projects. Her areas of technical expertise include HIV/AIDS, family planning, fistula prevention and care, gender-based violence, maternal and child health, and health systems strengthening.
For the past 16 years, Stratten has held leadership positions at IntraHealth, including senior program manager, regional director, and vice president of programs. She has been instrumental in developing the IntraHealth 2030 strategy and establishing a decentralized, regional structure; building IntraHealth’s PEPFAR and local capacity-strengthening portfolio; and institutionalizing data-driven growth and high-quality programming. She excels in leading global teams and fostering a culture of collaboration and equality.
“I’m honored to lead this incredible global team, particularly during this very exciting time in our organizational history,” Stratten says.

We have urgent, lifesaving work to do, and I could not be prouder of the team we have in place to do it.”
“I’m so excited to work together with Kate as we move forward with integrating our organizations and the very important work we have to do together around the world,” says Carrie Hessler-Radelet, president and CEO of Global Communities. “I also want to extend my sincerest thanks to Maqsoda for all she’s done to bring IntraHealth and Global Communities together and design a smooth, mutually beneficial combination.”
