Maqsoda Maqsodi to Join IntraHealth as New Chief Program Officer
IntraHealth International is thrilled to welcome Maqsoda Maqsodi as our new chief program officer, beginning February 1, 2021.
As a member of the executive team, Maqsodi will lead IntraHealth’s Center for Program Delivery and Learning and oversee global health projects in more than 30 countries. She brings over 17 years of experience in project leadership and management, including in conflict and post-conflict settings. Maqsodi has worked in Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, Bolivia, and Peru.
“I am so happy to be welcoming Maqsoda to our team here at IntraHealth,” says Polly Dunford, IntraHealth’s president and CEO. “Her stellar leadership skills and track record for getting results in even the most challenging settings are going to be great assets to our global teams, who—at this very moment—are working incredibly hard to protect health workers and keep health services available during this pandemic.”
Maqsodi comes to IntraHealth from Chemonics International, where she most recently served as senior operations director for its Middle East and North Africa division. Before this role, she worked in the Global Health Division of Chemonics, where she supported the USAID-funded HRH2030 program as part of her portfolio. This program partners with low- and middle-income countries to develop the health workforce their populations need.
“I came to global health from a background of governance and stabilization,” Maqsodi says. “That’s when I saw the immediate impacts health projects have on a community—you don’t have to wait five years to see the stabilizing effects of high-quality health care. And health workers are the most critical element in this. That’s what drew me to IntraHealth—it’s mission and vision, which are entirely focused on health workers.”
