IntraHealth International opened its first permanently-staffed office in Washington, DC, this week.

March 9, 2010, Washington, DC—North Carolina-based nonprofit IntraHealth International opened its first permanently-staffed office in Washington, DC, this week.  The office serves several corporate and programmatic functions, housing senior leaders of CapacityPlus, a flagship project for addressing the health workforce crisis, as well as the organization’s new Global Policy Division.

February 26, 2010, Chapel Hill, NC—IntraHealth International is launching a partnership with Hope Phones and FrontlineSMS:Medic to provide mobile phones to African health workers who offer maternal and child health services, including obstetric consultations, safe deliveries, family planning, and malaria and HIV prevention and treatment.

IntraHealth will work with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust, the University of Manitoba, and others to improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. This five-year project will support the Government of Karnataka to:

The USAID-funded Project NOVA presented its achievements at a ceremony entitled “Five Years Together: Advancing Maternal and Child Health in Armenia” on November 12, 2009. Representatives of USAID Armenia, the Armenian Ministry of Health, Marz health departments, international and local organizations, health care providers from various health facilities, and leaders of several rural communities joined Project NOVA leaders and staff to celebrate the project’s successes.
