Anjala Kanesathasan is the senior gender advisor for the Evidence to Action (E2A) Project and coordinates gender integration across global activities. With over 20 years of experience working in international health, Kanesathasan has technical expertise in: sexual and reproductive health (including family planning, HIV and AIDS, and safe motherhood); gender; adolescent and youth programming; behavior change communication; social marketing; and research and monitoring and evaluation.
She has provided technical and management direction for family planning/reproductive health projects in numerous countries, including ten years in East Africa. Prior to joining IntraHealth and E2A, Kanesathasan served as a senior health and development specialist with the International Center for Research on Women (2007-2014) and as the behavior change communications advisor for PATH (AMKENI Project) in Kenya (2001-2006). Anjala has an MPH in population planning and international health from the University of Michigan and a BA from Brown University.
