IntraHealth is innovating quickly to make sure health workers’ needs are met, but we need your help. The COVID-19 Frontline Health Worker Fund gives us the flexibility to respond to health workers’ needs immediately, as we hear about them from our projects in the 27 countries where we work. Here’s what we’re hearing from frontline health workers around the world:

• They continue to be in urgent need of training on how to safely triage and treat patients with COVID-19. In Mali, we’re already working with frontline health workers to create standard operating procedures, update guidelines, and adapt tools specifically for COVID-19.
• They desperately need equipment and supplies, including personal protective equipment (PPE), diagnostic tests, medications, essential medical devices, and communication tools. In Liberia, the Ministry of Health is using mHero—a two-way communication platform that we and our partners developed during the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa—to send COVID-19 messages to health workers as part of the country’s response to the pandemic. 
• They need our support to preserve their mental health, protect them from violence on-the-job, and ensure they have enough time and materials to properly follow all safety protocols. In South Sudan, a country that has battled civil war, famine, a refugee crisis, and rampant inflation, our team is collaborating with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study the health and demographic situation in every county to help government leaders plan appropriately for staffing and equipment needs.
