IntraHealth International is launching SwitchPoint, an annual conference, retreat and benefit concert, in Saxapahaw, North Carolina, on April 20. The conference will assemble industry leaders and representatives from more than 20 countries to focus on how the latest inventions, entrepreneurial ideas and real-world experiences can be applied to address global health challenges.

March 19, 2012, Chapel Hill, NC—IntraHealth International is launching SwitchPoint, an annual conference, retreat and benefit concert, in Saxapahaw, North Carolina, on April 20. The conference will assemble industry leaders and representatives from more than 20 countries to focus on how the latest inventions, entrepreneurial ideas and real-world experiences can be applied to address global health challenges.

Last month, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded the FUNZOKenya project to IntraHealth International. With this new five-year, $40 million cooperative agreement, IntraHealth and its partners, including Great Lakes University of Kisumu, the Kenya Healthcare Federation, Moi University, Results for Development Institute, University of Nairobi, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will support the government of Kenya to build a national training system to improve access to and quality of training for health workers.

February 23, 2012, Chapel Hill, NC—Nilda (Nena) Peragallo, RN, DrPH, FAAN, has joined the IntraHealth International Board of Directors. Peragallo is dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Miami and is one of the nation’s foremost researchers in HIV/AIDS risk reduction and prevention in Latinos. She is recognized internationally for her leadership in the areas of health disparities, cultural competency, and the recruitment and retention of minorities in nursing.
