Former president and chief executive officer

Maqsoda Maqsodi is a development professional with 20 years of experience implementing large, complex, US Agency for International Development-funded projects globally. Her leadership experience spans global health, democracy, and governance. 

Before joining IntraHealth as chief program officer, Maqsodi served as senior director for the Middle East and North Africa Business Unit at Chemonics. Before this, she was with the Global Health Division at Chemonics as acting senior vice president, project director, and operations director. She drove strategic growth for the division and its $320 million health portfolio. 

Prior to joining the Global Health Division at Chemonics International, Maqsodi served in multiple leadership roles within the former Afghanistan division of Chemonics. As acting senior vice president, she managed the implementation and strategic growth of the $600 million regional portfolio. She also served as the project director for the $77 million USAID-funded Afghanistan Trade and Revenue Project, which supported Afghanistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization.

Before joining Chemonics, Maqsodi was the interim chief of party and project director on the $64 million USAID-funded SIKA-West project, which was designed to increase citizen confidence and promote stability in key areas of western Afghanistan. Maqsodi earned her bachelor’s degree in international studies from the American University.
