Kenya's Health Workforce Looks to Technology for Training in Family Planning
Mobile phones and their capabilities are expanding in Kenya.
Nandini Jayarajan joined Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs in 2012 as a communications specialist for K4Health.Currently, Nandini comanages the Global Health eLearning Center and contributes to the K4Health project's field activities and mHealth initiatives. A former Facebook, Inc. employee, she has considerable experience with information, communication, and technology (ICT) and building online communities, and has helped a number of organizations leverage online and mobile technologies for solutions to public health knowledge management, health system strengthening, and community outreach and engagement.She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar and focused her work on building capacity of local health workers charged with providing family planning counseling, antenatal care, and prevention of early childhood death. She also has field experience in Southern Africa and India. Nandini has a master's degree in public health from Boston University and a BA from Reed College.
